Hello. My name is Jenny Brown and I am the 3-4 year olds teacher here at Busy B's Childcare. It is my belief that children learn best by 'doing.' When the child is engaged with their mind, body, and spirit, they are more likely to be interested in learning and to retain what they discover. For this reason, it is my philosophy that children should be encourged to explore and discover independently and with peers with minimal adult intervention. Through a well prepared environment, the children can discover items of interest that are both self correcting and self teaching. When the child experiences this gathering of knowledge personally, it has more meaning and a greater impact.
It is also my belief that children must have their basic needs met before they are ready to learn. Therefore, I always provide healthy snacks and meals as well as ample free choice/play time so that their bodies and minds are ready to learn. Children of all ability levels, ethnicities, socio-economic levels, and cultural backgrounds are welcomed and loved in my class!
